Hello lovely stitchers,
It’s been a little while since we last updated this blog (in fact, quite a while… back in 2016!) and so much has happened since then. Hannah’s Room has grown and blossomed into something truly special, and I thought now would be the perfect time to share a little update and invite you back into our creative world.
Over the past few years, we’ve been busy designing and releasing a whole collection of textile art kits, journal quilt projects, and seasonal designs – all inspired by our love of batik fabrics, colour, and texture. Many of you will know our signature style: fabric collages layered with detail, finished with hand or machine stitching, and always leaving space for you to add your own creative touches.
We’ve also been running our Hannah’s Room Retreats, where stitchers from all over come together to relax, learn, and create in a supportive, inspiring setting. These retreats are such a joy – full of laughter, stitching, good food, and plenty of encouragement. If you’ve never joined us before, perhaps 2025 is your year!
Alongside our kits and retreats, I also love sharing the story of Hannah’s Room and exploring new techniques through talks and workshops with quilting and stitching groups around the country. These sessions are a chance to connect face-to-face, try something new, and spark fresh ideas – and it’s always wonderful to meet so many of you in person. If your group is looking for a speaker or workshop leader, I’d be delighted to hear from you.
What’s new?
We’ve released designs like Life’s a Beach and our much-loved Journal Quilt Club collections.
Our kits now come with clear step-by-step guides, stitch diagrams, and layout suggestions to help both beginners and experienced stitchers feel confident.
We’re putting more focus on sustainability with packaging and materials, while keeping everything beautifully presented.
And what hasn’t changed is our love of sharing creativity, encouraging people to take time for themselves, and celebrating the uniqueness of every single stitch.
We’ll be updating this blog more regularly now – with behind-the-scenes peeks, kit launches, retreat stories, and little creative prompts to inspire your sewing.
Thank you for sticking with us all these years, whether you’ve been here since the very beginning in Hannah’s Room back in 1999, or you’ve just discovered us recently.
