Moonlit Shore – Slow Stitch Textile Art Kit

Create a wonderfully atmospheric moonlit seascape with Moonlit Shore, one of our much-loved Hannah’s Room slow stitch designs

This beautiful hand-stitching project captures the movement of waves beneath a large glowing moon, using layers of carefully selected batik fabrics and richly textured cotton perlé threads. Shades of midnight blue, soft aqua, white and sandy gold combine to create a dramatic coastal scene that really comes to life as the stitching is added.

The beauty of Moonlit Shore is in the stitchwork. Simple stitches are layered across the fabrics to create rolling waves, sea foam, reflections and texture, while the contrasting moon provides a striking focal point against the night sky.

As with all our slow stitch designs, there are no rigid rules. Follow our finished piece as closely as you like, or use it as inspiration to create your own interpretation of the shore. Add extra waves, change your stitches or simply enjoy seeing where your needle takes you.

The fabrics are supplied for you to cut and layer yourself, allowing each finished piece to be slightly different and completely individual.

Moonlit Shore is a relaxing project for beginners as well as experienced stitchers. You don't need to be an embroidery expert – the simple stitches, beautiful fabrics and gradual layering do much of the work for you.
