Capture the magic of the night sky in stitch.

Northern Lights is a striking 4" mini hoop design inspired by the incredible colours of the aurora sweeping across a dark winter sky. Vibrant turquoise, blue, pink and purple cotton perlé threads create the dancing lights, while a scattering of dark stitched fir trees gives the little landscape depth and scale.

A carefully chosen blue batik fabric provides the atmospheric background, with its natural variations in colour helping to suggest a moody night sky and snowy landscape before the stitching even begins.

There is no appliqué or complicated construction – the scene is created entirely through hand stitching over the batik fabric. Simple stitches and beautiful threads combine to create a design that looks wonderfully dramatic while remaining an enjoyable, achievable project.

Everything you need is included, so you can simply open your kit and start stitching.

As with all Hannah's Room designs, the instructions are there to guide rather than restrict you. Your Northern Lights can dance a little differently across the sky, your trees can vary in height and your stitches don't need to match mine exactly. That's part of the joy of creating your own little landscape.
