 Summer Haze – Slow Stitch Textile Art Kit
Capture the warmth and colour of a hazy summer landscape with Summer Haze, a beautiful slow stitch project filled with layered fields, distant hills and wonderfully textured wildflowers.
Designed in our signature Hannah’s Room style, Summer Haze combines a carefully chosen collection of batik fabrics with cotton perlé threads, building the landscape in gentle layers of sunny yellow, soft pink, blue and rich green. Once the fabrics are in place, the real magic comes from the stitching.
Rows of simple hand stitches add movement and texture through the fields, while embroidered grasses and flowers bring the foreground to life. The finished piece is full of detail when viewed up close, yet comes together to create a lovely summer landscape from a distance.
This is a project to enjoy at your own pace. You can follow our finished example or use it simply as inspiration and make your Summer Haze completely your own. There are no rigid rules with slow stitching – add more stitches, fewer stitches, change their direction or introduce your own little details.
Your Summer Haze kit includes:
A selection of beautiful batik fabrics for creating the layered landscape
Calico backing fabric
Coordinating cotton perlé threads
Full colour instructions to guide you through creating and stitching your picture
The fabrics are supplied for you to cut and layer yourself, so every finished Summer Haze will have its own individual character.
The finished textile artwork measures approximately 8 x 6 inches, making it perfect for framing once complete. The frame shown in the photographs is for display inspiration and is not included.
Suitable for both beginners and more experienced stitchers, Summer Haze is a wonderfully relaxing project for anyone who loves fabric, colour and the simple pleasure of hand stitching.
